“I believe my gift is to serve. Since childhood, I have liked to be around other people. I feel people with needs are drawn to me, and I am also drawn to those who I can comfort. It is my mission to make a difference in people’s lives, with support and encouragement, helping people express themselves, feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually.”

Ruth Chabot – Founder
My passion for serving goes back to my roots, as I was raised helping others. Our strong family unit extended to the community. My father, a former pastor, supported our community through good works, feeding those in need, donating clothes and always valuing each person equally. He touched me with his actions and inspired me in my career choices. Heart-centered care of family and community are the basis of Uniting With You Home Care, differentiators that enable us to better serve our clients, to help them be more independent and stay in their homes with a good quality of life.
My medical education began in my native Santo Domingo, where I attended medical school for 10 years at Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo and completed requirements to earn an MD degree in 1991. I volunteered at area hospitals and worked with the local community through my father’s church but emigrated to the US prior to completing my Thesis and Boards. Over the ensuing years in the US, I worked as the Histopathology Lab Manager at Rowley Biochemical while gaining experience and credentials in the medical field. I worked at Rowley Biochemical until 2017 – when I decided it was time to completely dedicate myself to the medical field of home health care and enhance my education as a nurse to better serve my clients.
Over the years, I earned three Associates Degrees and achieved numerous certifications including Phlebotomy, Clinical Laboratory Science and Medical Technology. While engaging in community outreach through my church and working initially as a CNA and later as a Nurse Assistant, I earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2005.
From 2005 to 2007, I served as an LNP/Charge Nurse at Pilgrim Rehab, handling treatment admissions. Starting in 2011, I worked with Neighborhood Home Care in two roles: overseeing Quality Assurance and also as a Visiting Nurse, providing medication education, administering treatment and offering social support. I gained valuable experience and fulfilled an unmet need to assist Spanish-speaking clients. Despite the fact that our businesses are competitors, I continue to work with Neighborhood Home Care. With our complementary focus areas, we each benefit from our partnership.
In 2016, supported by my longtime friend and peer, Maria Cid, I launched Uniting With You Home Care to offer medical and non-medical assistance to people with health challenges, allowing them to remain in their homes or return home after hospitalization. I serve as both the Agency Director and a Nurse Caregiver.
Uniting With You Home Care provides temporary and ongoing home healthcare services to clients 18 and older with various medical needs, including chronic disease or acute trauma, post-surgical care, mental health and care including education around coping and managing the disease process based on a new diagnosis.
In early 2018, I earned my nursing degree and became licensed as an RN. My next educational goal is to enroll in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College.
